Takodana - Red Raider Rum (if)

Walkthrough

Captain Ithano in Maz's Castle is in a bit of a predicament. He took heavy fire from some former members of the Gray Gundarks and his ship is now being repaired so he cannot possibly deliver his illicit cargo to his client on time.

From Takodana bays, go 4e, 4n, enter, then <table> to sit down at a table. There are two pirates sitting here, Sidon Ithano, the Red Raider and Quiggold, his first mate. If you sit around for a while you will hear Ithano say he is in need of some assistance.

Ithano says: If yer of a mind to <assist> me, let yerself be known.

You're here to help him, so <assist ithano> then listen to what he has to say...

You offer to help the Red Raider.
Ithano turns to you, his Kaleesh mask blood-red in the dim light.
In a hushed voice, he relates his recent troubles.
Ithano whispers: What I'm about te tell ye is only fer yer own ears, right?
Ithano whispers: Going back about a year or thereabout, we've been involved
 in some smuggling from Sriluur.
Ithano whispers: No weapons or illicit cargoes, nay.
Ithano leans forward.
Ithano whispers: Rum.
You sense Ithano's grin from behind his red Kaleesh mask.
Ithano whispers: I've a contact at a distillery on Sriluur.
Ithano whispers: They make the finest Sriluurian rum you'd ever whet yer
 whistle on.
Ithano whispers: But the Weequay are a funny lot when i' comes to taxes.
Ithano whispers: So I shift about four, maybe five hundred crates o' the
 stuff on the annual, see?
Ithano whispers: We 'ad no problems fer near a year... and then poof...
Ithano shakes his head in disappointment.
Ithano whispers: The Gray Gundarks.
Ithano whispers: Foul motherlovers, the whole lot.
Ithano whispers: They say, "Sriluur is the source of every foul wind that
 blows through the galaxy."
Ithano whispers: And they aren't wrong!
Ithano pauses momentarily.
Ithano whispers: The Gray Gundarks come to us an' they 'ave the nerve to
 try and strong-arm us with a protection racket...
Ithano whispers: We says no and we knew what it meant.
Ithano whispers: Their damned swoop bikers hit us hard.
Ithano whispers: Barely 'ad enough time to get the Martinet's hold to half.
Ithano takes a drink.
Ithano whispers: We limped about an' decided to lay-low here with Maz.
Ithano whispers: Them swoop bikers did us dirty, they did.
Ithano whispers: The Martinet won't be space-worthy fer at least a month.
Ithano sighs.
Ithano whispers: I subcontracted out some o' the work to get the rum crates
 where they needs be goin'.
Ithano whispers: But there's a few crates still 'ere.
Ithano whispers: Some of my clients are special and require... discretion.
Ithano whispers: So if you've a mind to give us a 'and, I'd reward ye
 handsomely.
Ithano whispers: If yer in, just <nod>.
Ithano turns away.

Then <nod ithano> to agree to his proposition.

You nod at Sidon Ithano.
Ithano nods at you slowly.
Ithano whispers: Good, good.
Ithano whispers: If ye have ever been to the Panto system, then you'll know
 the resort on Toloran.
Ithano whispers: Big great hotel there.
Ithano whispers: Dirt-free chap calling 'imself Ken runs it.
Ithano whispers: I've a crate of Sriluurian rum under this very table.
Ithano whispers: Take it an' bring it to Ken on Toloran.
Ithano pushes something with his foot toward you.
You notice a crate of rum under the table.
Ithano whispers: Go 'head now and take the rum.
Ithano turns away.

The pirates somehow managed to hide a full crate of rum under the table. It is very heavy, so make sure you drop all of your equipment and money (you can stash it under the table), and then <get rum from table> to pick up the crate.

Ithano claps you on the shoulder.
Ithano whispers: I wish ye fair winds, friend.
Ithano whispers: Remember - Ken on Toloran.
Ithano whispers: Now off with ye!

The crate is very fragile, so you should be extremely careful with it. Go <out> to leave the table, then out again to leave the castle. Go 4s, 3w and call your ship. Then make your way to the Panto system.

Once you're in the Panto system, land at Panto-Prime, go north and press the button to get a PantoCab. Enter the cab and <press 1> to go to Toloran.

The PantoCab drops you off outside the hotel. Enter the hotel and you will see Ken the manager. Listen to what he has to say.

Ken turns to you.
Ken exclaims: The beverages!  Excellent.
Ken says: We must be discrete about this.
Ken glances around quickly.
Ken whispers: Just take them to the west in the information section.
Ken whispers: Leave the crate there and it will be taken care of.
Ken says: And do let our mutual friend know that all is well.
Ken turns away.

Go west and then drop the crate. Some muscular concierges hauls it away. Then go e, out and get another PantoCab. You need to <press 3> to return to Panto-Prime. From Panto-Prime, make your way back to Ithano on Takodana.

Ithano turns to you.
Ithano whispers: You've done a good thing, friend.
Ithano whispers: Everybody is as happy as a mid-morning kip.
Ithano whispers: Your rewards.
Ithano places 5,000 credits on the table.
Ithano says: Quiggold ya slow-motion cur... three bottles for our friend.
Quiggold reaches under the table, producing three bottles of Sriluurian rum.
Ithano whispers: Me thanks to ye for a job well-done.

You get 5,000 credits and three bottles of strong Sriluurian rum for your efforts. If you are a smuggler you will also get 750 GP for your effort.

This mini is repeatable, but you will only get 1,000 credits and a single bottle of rum on repeats.
